Hell's Knights (MC Sinners #1) by Bella Jewel

Sex. Who really knows sex? I mean, we've all had sex, great sex even but when you get down to the details, how many of us actually see sex for the raw, primal act that it is?

I thought I knew sex. I've had sex. Heck, I've felt lust. Once, I've even felt love. I thought I knew exactly what sex was.

Until I met Cade.

He's the meaning of sex.

He's a biker.

He's dangerous.

He's powerful.

He's dominant.

He wants me.

My world is about to change, for the better? I don't know. But here's my story, I hope you're ready for it because it's not the beautiful, heart wrenching story most people have to tell. It's passionate, forbidden, morally incorrect and downright, fucking beautiful.
Four Stars

”Sugar, if I wanted my dick wet, I could get it wet anywhere, with anyone. I don’t want my dick wet. I want it fuckin’ drenched, drippin’ and surrounded in you.”

**Jaw Drop**

**Squirms**

Ladies, did that get your attention? For those of you who know me, I’m a huge fan of dirty talk. Like. Huge. Yes, pun intended. I think that’s why this book called to me. First off it’s a biker book. Like Celebrity/Rock star books, Biker books call to me. It never fails. Bikers are all Alpha, all badass, and uber possessive of those they love. It’s like imbedded in their genes or something. And the dirty talk…H-O-T! Oh yea. I freaking devoured this book!

“Your life was bad; I see it in your eyes. When you grin, your face is empty, and I have no doubt when you smile, your eyes won’t shine like they should. One day though, baby, I will make them shine.”

Addison is up a shits creek without a paddle. She’s twenty-one years old with no money, no job and her life, which was already in the toilet, worsened when her druggie-whore mother died. Now her only choice is to go to her father, the president of the Hell’s Knights MC. Not only does she find out that he didn’t abandon them, but that he indeed loved her and her mother. Though she is very hesitant in the beginning, she can’t help but start to feel that maybe her life is starting to change. However, she her past isn’t completely behind her. She’s haunted and hunted; she has to be careful to not make the same mistakes that screwed up her life. This includes staying away from MC bad-boy Cade Duke.

“I don’t want a simple fuck though, I want something that’s real. Something like you…”

Cade, Cade, Cade. He’s trouble and he’s sex on a fucking stick. I love Cade. When he sets his mind to something, God help anyone who stands in his way. What he wants is Addison. When she first comes waltzing through the club like she didn’t give a fuck, he was immediately in lust. She’s an enigma to him and very much a challenge. She doesn’t make it easy for him. The more she rejects him, the harder he tries because there was something about her that made him want to protect her, especially from her past. It was only a matter of time before Addison would succumb to his charms.

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book. I loved Cade’s dirty talk and Addison’s take-no-shit attitude. The sex was off-the-charts-HOT and the story kept me turning the pages. This definitely quenched my Alpha Hero Biker needs and will hopefully quench yours too. Very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

Teaser

Wishing she didn’t look so good in a pair of worn jeans and an old red University of Maryland sweatshirt, he slammed the door and set the lock.
“Keely.” He stood by the door, afraid to trust himself around her. He had to keep her at a distance. As teens, he’d been too wild for her, as adults, he couldn’t give her what she wanted.

Anger grew in his gut. What if she’d been attacked in his own neighborhood, on her way to see him, and he’d been inside watching a movie? He faced her, using his best cop tone. “Do you know how many muggings there were on the next block last month?” He could have bought a house in a safer neighborhood, but he liked the fact everyone knew he was a cop. His presence kept crime down on this block. But he’d never expected women to come over at odd hours in the night.

She didn’t even have the grace to look chastened as she took a swig of beer and shrugged. “So, I see you still like Louis L’Amour movies.” She smiled and pointed at the television screen with her beer bottle.
He forced himself to take a slow, calming breath, counting to ten.
“Logan?” A furrow formed between her brows and she stood. Her long brown hair, damp from the rain, clung to the sides of her face. A loose tendril fell across her cheek.
He wanted to step forward, brush it aside, grab her face in both hands, and kiss the hell out of her.

“Why didn’t you return my calls when I reached out to you a few years ago?”
So that was why she was here. To finish the conversation they’d started earlier, before the street outside her dad’s house had erupted in chaos.
She set her bottle on the table and took a step closer to him.
His gaze dropped to follow her pink-painted fingertips as she reached for the hem of her sweatshirt. Surprise shot through him as she yanked it over her head, tossing it to the sofa. She wore a thin beige halter and no bra. He stared at the pert outline of her nipples, and his mouth went dry.

Oh, holy shit.

With every ounce of willpower he possessed, he forced his eyes higher and stared back at her. But focusing on her eyes didn’t do him much good. Her blue eyes sparkled in the dim lamp light, sending him signals he knew only too well.
She hadn’t come over solely to get the answers to her questions. She’d come here to seduce him. And God help him, he didn’t know if he had the strength to resist.

ARC review: RUSH (Phoenix Rising #3) by Joan Swan

Jessica Fury, Washington lobbyist, has money, connections, and her own firm. But five years ago she had something better: happiness. Her firefighter husband, Quaid, was handsome, courageous, and crazy about her. Then one day he walked into a chemical inferno—and never walked out. Jessica has been through hell to get back on her feet. And then a rumor surfaces that could bring a miracle or shatter her world – again.

Q has been a prisoner forever. He’s honed his mind and body into weapons. He’s developed abilities no one else understands. But he’s still at the mercy of a cabal of ruthless men, who blank his memory, test him like a lab rat, and tell him lies. Although his past has been erased and his future looks grim, instinct tells him he has a woman to live for. What his mind can’t remember, his body can’t forget…

The heat is on.

4.0 - 4.5 Stars

I'm a huge fan of Joan Swan's Phoenix Rising series! I've been anticipating this book since the very beginning. As I was reading Rush, I realized quickly that this installment was going to be a little different than the previous two. While both Fever and Blaze were highly fast-paced and thrilling, Joan Swan slows things down a bit to tell the story of Jessica and Quaid resulting in one heck of an emotional roller-coaster. My gut twisted! My heart wrenched! But don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of suspense and danger that kept me bouncing in my seat.

This is a one in a zillion opportunity, Quaid. How often do people get a second chance to find love with their once-in-a-lifetime?” --Jessica (pg. 265 paperback ARC of Rush)

She thought she lost him forever. After five long years Jessica Fury receives some promising news that she refuses to believe. For Q, everything that was Quaid had been torn away from him...his life as a firefighter, his happiness, his loving wife, and all his memories. For five years Q was held captive and used in experiments. After finally being rescued and reunited with Jessica, the painful process of healing begins. Jessica and Quaid's journey to be together again is extremely emotional and tragic. Ms. Swan does a wonderful job at showing what had happened to Q in those five years, which made me angry that this happy, fun-loving couple had their lives ripped apart in the first place. I loved that there were glimpses of Jessica and Quaid during more blissful times, too. Even with all the angst, Rush will leave you with the feeling of hope.

All the favorite characters in the series are present and working together as a team. All their abilities are used. There is also a huge set up for the next book, Shatter. Joan Swan has been teasing us with Mitch throughout the series. He is one cocky and mysterious dude. He's more than meets the eye, and I can't wait to find out about all his secrets!

Reading order for the Phoenix Rising series:
Fever
Blaze
Rush
Shatter – coming soon!

Losing Keira left Luke vulnerable—in every way. When they were together, the powers each possesses were mysteriously enhanced. But it’s the sexy, surprising woman beneath the tough exterior that Luke’s really missed. Even if she betrayed him utterly. And even if agreeing to help her uncover a government conspiracy means watching his life and his heart go up in flames again...

 Five Stars

Five Fast-paced, Fantastic Stars!!!

Make room for this romance-suspense junkie, because I'm doing cartwheels all over this book! Yes, the sequel to FEVER pushed all the right buttons for me. Can you tell that I found it fantastic? Well, I did!

Blaze mainly focuses on Keira O'Shay and Luke Ransom. Both were part of the firefighting team whose lives were forever changed in that warehouse fire that was first mentioned in Fever. Going into Blaze, I liked that these two already had an established relationship, even if they hadn't seen each other in 3 years. Keira and Luke's lives intersect again when Keira, who is now an FBI agent/sniper, has a mission to rescue a little boy. I must say that the opening sequence of events is not only explosive, but we also get to see how well Keira and Luke work together on many levels.

Luke stood on the opposite side, looking tattered and sexy as hell sporting his rifle and that goddamned semiautomatic strapped to his thick, muscular thigh. Why, why, why did she find that so...hot!” --Keira

I have no idea how she found the strength to walk away from this man 3 years ago...well, I do, but you've got to read and find out yourself. After reading Blaze, I now understand why Luke was the way he was in Fever. The love of his life walked away from him and his dreams, and he had been hurting all this time. Now, circumstance has thrown their lives back together, but can he trust her to not hurt his heart again? Whatever the outcome, what I loved about this couple is that they are awesome at taking on the bad guys.

If it's your fight, it's my fight.” --Luke
We stick together, right? I've got your back.” --Luke

Ladies, Luke doesn't mind that she leads the way in the fight either. Mmmm...gotta love a man that lets the woman take the reigns! Keira is one of my most favorite kick-ass heroines that I've come across. Even with all her issues I completely understand and love her!

Joan Swan gives her fans another thrill ride in BLAZE, complete with lots of action, fast-paced scenes, and sizzling romantic tension. Alyssa, Teague, and Mitch all have prominent secondary roles. Mitch...oh man, he is really something! I really, really hope he gets his own book. More of the conspiracy behind that infamous warehouse fire is revealed, and there's so much more left to uncover in the next books! I am so there for book 3. Bring it on!!!

Update:
RUSH (Phoenix Rising #3) releases August 27, 2013. I'll be posting my review soon!

Josh & Hannah (Redwood Falls #1) by Lynda Chance

Josh Turner wants Hannah more than life itself. She's perfect and new . . . but she's a McIntyre. She's from the richest family in the county, and he's a Turner, from the wrong side of the proverbial tracks. And to make matters worse, there's no love lost between their families.

New Adult 92K words / suitable for 18+ AN ALPHA-MALE IN THE MAKING

Four Stars

“You belong to me now, understand? You’re mine; we’re exclusive. Nobody else gets to touch you, and I mean not at all.” His nostrils flared and Hannah’s heart stopped before taking up a faster cadence. “I own you.” His eyes searched hers. “I hope like hell you can handle it.”

Saw this book last night while surfing GR last night and when I saw the words Alpha-Male in the making, I was sold. God, I’m so easy. This was pretty simple read, nothing too complex or anything, though it was a bit repetitive at times.

For those looking for an adult, steamy novel, this isn’t really what you want. I guess it’s more of a New Adult – with just a little bit of steam, lots of making out which led to a whole lot of sexual frustration. But that’s okay. The main reason why I picked it up was because of Josh – the Alpha-Male in the making.

Josh was stunned when his kiss of compassion derailed against his will, because a kiss of hunger and need.

Hannah McIntyre and Josh Turner have been neighbors for most of their life, but their lives are nothing alike. Hannah comes from a wealthy, loving family. Josh spent most of his childhood with his abusive, low-life drunk of father. At the age of thirteen, his aunt and uncle took him away from that life, but he constantly worried that the reputation of his father would follow him.

Hannah was only fifteen when her and Josh’s life would change forever. When he witnessed beautiful young Hannah being shunned by the mean girls at this high school, he felt the need to intervene. He kissed her in front of everyone. He soon found out that he was her first kiss. After that revelation, he instant felt the need to protect her; to possess her. He has never felt this way about anyone before, not in his eighteen years of his life. Women have always come easy. She turned his world upside down, but there was a catch: She was a McIntyre and she was only fifteen.

He wanted her with an ache in his gut that he knew couldn’t be appeased by someone else. There was no sense in even trying. It had to be Hannah. Only Hannah. And with turmoil settling in his stomach, he knew that he couldn’t have her. At least not yet.

As much as Josh wanted Hannah, he knew he had to set some limits. He was eighteen, she fifteen. She was a girl with a good reputation, good family background, and he was the son of drunk. What could he possibly give her? But no matter what, he couldn’t stay away from her. Their connection strong, their hold on each other was beyond anything either could comprehend. They were infatuated with one another. Could two people with so many roadblocks (family, money, age) have a chance at a relationship?

All he could think about was the fact that no one would ever have Hannah but him. He would have all her kisses, he would be the guy who took her out and held her clamped to his side; he would be the one who eventually took her virginity

It’s no secret that the biggest reason why I enjoyed this story so much was because of Josh and his extreme Alpha-ness; he was possessive, strong, and oh so protective of Hannah. I will never tire of Alpha Heroes. NEVER. I’m sure guys who are like this in real life aren’t as charming, but that’s why I love immersing myself in these types of books where I know, well at least the majority of the time, that they have a soft spot for the women they love. **sigh** Yea, I can’t get enough of them.

The story did get a little repetitive at times, especially in regards to why Josh was so adamant on waiting. It felt like every chapter it had to be repeated that he was waiting for her to become of age. Not only that, but he was fixated at how Hannah had come from a family of wealth. Oh the pride of men. Very repetitive.

I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series about Hannah’s brother, Zach and Josh’s cousin, Katie. I had an inkling that these two had some chemistry brewing. I’m so looking forward to reading that.

ABOUT TILLIE COLE

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

No more tears.

Thank you Ms. Abel for bringing an end to my book funk. I fucking loved this book; I consumed it in one day. I saw this book around GR and was awaiting its release, so as soon as it came out, I was all over it like white on rice. Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. I can totally relate to the heroine and her insecurities, I guess dressing like a tomboy and having two older brothers can do that to a girl. To me, this story is about figuring out how to accept and love the person you are, flaws and all. It’s then, and only then, can you truly be happy.

It was one thing for someone to insult you or hurt you, but it was an entirely different thing when the one person who didn’t believe in you and didn’t think you were anything special was…you.

Asia was raised in a house full of men: Two brothers and her father. Growing up, her brothers were her main influences, which included smoking the occasional weed and drinking. She surfs, skates and likes to wear baggy clothing; the typical tomboy. Because of her older brothers’ über protectiveness, no guy in high school could even approach her, but unfortunately, Asia didn’t know this was happening leading her to believe that she was just one of the guys and nobody special. The one boy she felt a connection with was Marcus, her brother Shaun’s best friend.

My insecurity around men hadn’t been created all on my own. I had help, and that help had come from my first love, Marcus – the guy I’d lost my virginity to.

Marcus was her everything. After his father passed away, her alcoholic mother raised Marcus. Needless to say, Marcus spent a lot of time with Asia and her family. She secretly admired him, fearing his reaction as well as her brother’s. However one night changed all that. She lost herself in Marcus, but it wasn’t meant to be. Marcus moved away wanting to chase his dream of being a pro skater, leaving Asia devastatingly heartbroken.

“If you wanna be free, Asia, all you have to do is see yourself through my eyes.” ~ Marcus

Fast forward seven years, and she still hasn’t quite gotten over Marcus, but she’s trying. She’s decided to let her friend make her over. Whether it’s permanent has yet to be determined. Her new look catches the eye of Jay Clarke, a very wealthy and handsome gentleman. She starts to fall for him, but a two important things hold her back: One – she constantly hides her true self around him. He doesn’t know she use to be quite a bad girl, who use to smoke weed, dislikes wearing dresses; always opting for the comfy jeans and shirts. Will she ever fit into his world? Two – she still quite hasn’t gotten over Marcus, who now is a famous professional skater. She really can’t catch a break. Is she willing to change who she is for Jay? What happens when Marcus comes back into her life? Will she ever be free of her insecurities and be truly happy?

“You’re sexy as hell. You’re sweet. You surf, you skate. You’re so fuckin’ talented that I can’t even pick one of your damn paintings to hang in my room because they’re all so fuckin’ good. And the best part is you have no clue how special you are.”
My eyebrows furrowed. “Why is that the best part?”
“Because that means I’m the one who gets to watch you figure it out.”

I loved the drama in this book. Though there was a small love-triangle, it didn’t overpower the story, nor make it so angsty that my blood pressure would rise. No. It was just perfect. I loved Asia’s journey. Every time you think she’s down for the count, she would pick herself back up and try again (no matter how hurt she was.) I truly admired her character. As for Marcus, well, there aren’t really any words to describe how I feel about him. I loved watching him change too. He doesn’t do relationships, but once Asia re-enters his life, he was a goner. The way he helped Asia see her true value was just plain ole beautiful. Loved this book and I’m really looking forward to Shaun’s story next. Highly recommend!
