Take a Chance: Series Bundle (Take a Chance #1-4) by Diane Alberts

TRY  ME
What happens in Vegas...can lead to romance.

It took one wild night for Sergeant Jeremy Addison to realize that Vegas? Was a bad idea.Bloody. Bruised. Dehydrated. Abandoned in the desert, and left to stagger down the road. The only way this leave could get worse was if his savior was his ex-best friend's sister...and the girl he'd loved since childhood.

The last person Erica expected to find on the roadside was her high school crush. She hadn't seen Jeremy in seven years—ever since the night he said he loved her, and she ran away. Losing him then had been a mistake, but wanting him now could be catastrophic if he discovered the secret that chased every other man from her life.

But with a tall, tattooed Marine determined to prove he's always been faithful, can Erica resist his advances...or will she surrender ground and give love a try?

 LOVE ME
Thomas Jones has come to Vegas to win yet another account for his marketing company. But when he sits across from beautiful and sensual Brianna Falk to deliver his pitch, his desire to leave Vegas as quickly as possible is replaced by the need to get closer to her. Yet she resists his charm.

Brianna knows a date with Thomas could jeopardize her job, but he’s so maddening and insistent, she has a hard time denying him just one date. But that’s all it can be: one date. Because she has to protect her job and her secrets, even if it means giving up a chance at a life she never thought she’d have again.

PLAY ME
Even the best-laid plans can go awry.

Single-mom Kiersten Worth knows a bottle of champagne and night of hot, no-strings-attached sex is the perfect solution to her jilted bride blues…and Garrett Kelly, long-time friend and her teenaged son’s sexy basketball coach, is just the stud for the job.

Garrett wants more from the elusive temptress than a casual affair, but he never expects it to come in the form of an unexpected pregnancy.

When he proposes an unorthodox solution—move in and raise their baby together—Kiersten has to decide whether to let down her guard and open her heart to the man who secretly loved her for years, or risk losing his tender embrace for good.

TAKE ME
Married in the morning…

Professional heartbreaker Mike Worth thrived on the chase—and dancer Morgan Collins represented the ultimate prize. But there was no way he was going to throw away his single-man status…not even for an elusive redhead with sparkling eyes and mile-long legs. So how did he let one drunken Vegas night end with I do instead of hell no?

Morgan’s life revolved around her career and she had no intention of letting a man interfere—even if Mike made her question all her rules about love. At his urging, she reluctantly agreed to give their spur-of–moment marriage a chance. But once their trial-honeymoon ended, would she choose to follow the dance and leave her unforgettable husband behind?

Try Me (Take a Chance #1)
4 stars
Jeremy has never stopped loving Erica. When their lives unexpectedly cross paths again, he has another chance to win her heart, but the secret she's guarding could very well change things. I'm such a sucker for friends-to-lovers stories, and this one was a really cute one with a Marine on leave! Jeremy felt so unworthy of her, but he never gave up hope. In a nutshell, this is a short story of longing and acceptance that ignites into sensual romance and topped off with a very satisfying epilogue.

Love Me (Take a Chance #2)
4 stars
The next novella is most definitely a second-chance romance for both the hero and heroine. Thomas (Tommy from Try Me and Erica's brother) is back in Vegas for work. He has a business meeting with Brianna Falk that immediately snowballs into a blazing inferno of desire and attraction. Both make assumptions about the other. The need to be cautious becomes necessary as each tread slowly in navigating the waters of a possible relationship. I really enjoyed Love Me a lot. The theme of being ready to let go and move on is there. The hot/cold drama was a little too much for me at times, but overall I found myself completely wrapped up in the plot. It was nice seeing the couple from Try Me make an appearance in this story. Thomas and Brianna are each well-deserving of a second chance, and I loved seeing their romance turn into something endearing.

Play Me (Take a Chance #3)
2.5 Stars
Kiersten and Garrett have known each for a long time. A single night of giving into passion and need results in a sticky situation that leads into an awkward living arrangement. Although Play Me was ultimately a heartwarming story, it was hard for me to warm up to Kiersten. I feel for her, I really do. I understand the hurt in her past and the iron walls she puts up; however, I got a little tired of her constantly pushing Garrett away. For me, the hero is the sweet savior of this story. The handsome and chiseled basketball coach wants to do the the honorable thing. Play Me may have been my least favorite of the bunch, but it was a quick read with a good combination of heat and emotions with a touching end that made me smile.

Take Me (Take a Chance #4)
4 Stars
Whew, baby! Take Me was definitely the steamiest of the four novellas! Mike Worth, who is Garrett's best friend, is such a big-time player. He's finally met his match with dancer Morgan Collins. She's super focused on her career, so being in a relationship is a low priority. Both prefer connections of the no-strings-attached variety. So what happens when they get drunk one night and wake up with rings on their fingers? Oops! I thought Take Me was a fun story. The chemistry they share is pretty intense! I loved seeing Mike and Morgan slowly get to know each other and figure things out. The epilogue was adorable, too!

Diane Alberts's Take A Chance bundle has a little bit of everything a romance reader needs. Each novella offers a great balance of spice, angst and heart-tugging emotion. All the couples are somehow connected, so the banter they all share is quite amusing. I loved the “take-a-chance-on-me” theme going on throughout the entire series! One thing I really appreciated is that each novella can be read as a standalone, and each has a beautiful epilogue. If happy ever afters is what you seek, then you might want to “take-a-chance” on these stories. Overall entertaining, this bundle will leave you warm and fuzzy until the very last story.
