Jagged (Colorado Mountain #5) by Kristen Ashley

An old flame rekindled . . .

Zara Cinders always knew Ham Reece was the one, but he wasn't interested in settling down. When she found someone who was, Ham walked out of her life. Three years later, Zara's lost her business, her marriage, and she's barely getting by in a tiny apartment on the wrong side of the tracks. As soon as Ham hears about Zara's plight, he's on her doorstep offering her a lifeline. Now, it will take every ounce of will power she possesses to resist all that he offers.

Ham was always a traveling man, never one to settle down in one town, with one woman, for more time than absolutely necessary. But Ham's faced his own demons, and he's learned a lot. About himself, and about the life he knows he's meant to live. So when he hears that Zara's having a rough time, he wants to be the one to help. In fact, he wants to do more than that for Zara. A lot more. But first, he must prove to Zara that he's a changed man.

Five Stars

Those of you that know me know all about my love for all thing Kristen Ashley. Now some I love a little more than others, but they are all simply varying degrees of love!

Jagged is no exception. The Colorado Mountain series holds a special place in my heart as it was my very first KA series. I popped by KA cherry on it if you will. :)

Jagged is the story of Graham Reese. Now we first met Graham in book one of The Burg series 'For You' - he was one of Feb's guys when she was traveling the roads. I am going to suggest that if you haven't, you should read 'For You' before this one.

Anyway, Graham, who goes by Ham, which is the only thing that I didn't like about this story. I hate that name. To me he is more of a Graham, but I digress. Graham is kind of a ramblin' man and has women all over. Now I know that sounds bad but they all know they are not his one and only and enjoy each other when he is in their town. Zara Cinders has loved Ham for a long time but ends this arrangement with Ham when she decides to get married, she knows he is not going to settle down so she tried to move on, and he accepts this. He doesn't like it but he accepts it.

Three years later all that changes. Zara is no longer married and barely making it and when Ham gets wind of this he high tails it back to her. Ham has a rough couple years(if you have read For You then you know what I'm talking about) and has realized life is to short not to go claim the woman he loves! And claim her he does in that fucking awesome KA Alpha way!

"Don't have a line to the devil, Ham." "Bullshit, babe. Somewhere along the line you made a deal with him. No woman who gives head the way you do hasn't sold her soul for that ability."

Lines like that make this classic Kristen Ashley. What I love most about these books is they make me laugh and cry and swoon over the yummy in your face Alpha's that she writes so well!
